Cuando dentro del ámbito de la salud se atiende, se informa y se hace seguimiento de la salud de las mujeres sin la perspectiva de género y interseccional, muy fácilmente nos podemos encontrar ante el ejercicio de violencia institucional y que esta quede invisibilizada e impune. Por lo tanto, es necesario que esta se identifique desde las percepciones y vivencias de sus usuarias y se reconozca como tal. La violencia institucional no solo incluye aquellas manifestaciones de violencia contra las mujeres en que el estado es el responsable directamente por su acción u omisión, sino también aquellos actos que muestran una pauta de discriminación o de obstáculo en el ejercicio y el goce de los derechos.
Por todo esto, es necesario identificar las violencias institucionales presentes en el ámbito de la salud, además de facilitar información sobre la percepción y/o vivencias de las mujeres relacionadas con esta violencia en el sistema catalán de la salud y en particular, en el de la salud sexual y reproductiva.
Esta identificación ha servido de base para la elaboración de este informe.
